Managing your bankroll

Hello,

i wasnt sure which section to post this but this seems as good as any.

I am a university student in the UK and i play poker to subsidise my way through the course.

I have been playing for about 4 months but have become a student of the game, and this has paid off with about $2000 made during that time.

My bread and butter is $10 SNGs (though i am looking to move up) and once i get a decent bankroll i cash out about two thirds of it but can take a bad run and empty myself.

My question is how do you guys manage your bankroll? do you cash out at regular intervals (i.e weekly) or do you cash out when you hit a certain figure? Also i play over a few sites (titan, stars, pacific etc,). Considering my average game is a $10 SNG, what do you recommend as a minimum figure to keep my bank roll at?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Thanks

Hi i will post a nice reply as you are bound to get some stick for this.

Recommended bankroll requirements for any level of SNG's are in the FAQ at the top of this forum. As for cashing out, do it when you need it and can afford to take it from you roll.

Hi Idstain,

Longy speaks the truth. The FAQ should get you started. Welcome to the Forum, post some hands.
