How long must Harrahs investigate?

Sorry, this is neither news nor gossip but hopefully falls within a broad definition of a "view."
The final table for the main event of the WSOP was six weeks ago. Almost immediately serious questions were raised about extra chips materializing during the tournament so Harrahs personnel , unless their heads were firmly planted in the sand, had to know that either an error had been made or cheating had occurred or a combination of both had taken place.

At first they tried to pass off the discrepancy as "color up" fluctuations. I refuse to believe that any knowledgeable tournament personnel at Harrahs actually believed that explanation. If that was the reason they provided to Harrahs upper management (which may not be familiar enough with the mechanics of conducting a tournament to know better) they should be fired for either total incompetence or lying to management (probably a more serious corporate offense.) So, I assume Harrahs management knew right away that was something amiss. Yet, it was a month later, after two reporters detailed a very plausible explanation before Harrahs promised an investigation. that was almost two weeks ago and we still have not a peep out of Harrahs.

Maybe they have legitimate concerns about lawsuits from affected players or some type of sanction from the Nevada authorities. I am not knowledgeable enough to even guess about those issues. But does occur to me that it would explain the apparent reluctance to disclose what did occur.

Harrahs can not possibly believe this problem will just be forgotten if they ignore it long enough, so how long will it take them to respond?

Why should they respond? Its not in their best interest to do so, although we all want answers I doubt we will get them. Your only recourse is to sue or file a complaint with casino control.

Harrah's has a long history of idiot moves - I've always thought they were a bunch of passive-aggressive d*ckheads, but it may be simple incompetance. Either way, they're going to ignore this until it goes away.....

It is in their best interest to do so, they do not want Gaming coming down on their backs.

Also to the OP, there is a very indepth article written about this, and the color up issue is a very plausible explanation...they have been able to narrow the time down to a 22 minute window.

I believe their explanation has to be to the gaming commission, not to the general public. They are most likely going to treat this like a private matter unless they are forced to do otherwise.

Unless a player from the Main Event, with a plausible claim of injury complained, actually filed a complaint with Nevada Gaming, the matter will die quietly.

This is something a Player should have raised, preferably someone still in play when this occurred.
