The legality of online gambling is in disupte at the federal level. The DOJ says its illegal, but so far the courts have disagreed.

It is definitely illegal in Texas.

Seeing how Texans have such love for all things Texas, you should be safe playing Texas Hold'Em.

Just don't play Omaha.

Kinky Friedman was on Imus this morning talking about how much money Texas is losing by people having to go to neighboring states to participate in gaming recreation. He is who you should vote for if you believe in freedom. Kinky didn't talk specifically about online poker but he did say, "We invented Texas hold em in Texas, but we can't even play it here...."

kinky has specifically said he would have b&m casinos but nothing specifically about online gambling. none the less, it is much better to have him in office bringing an environment friendly to gambling than continue to have a state outlawing all forms of gambling (minus the lottery and horse racing -- which politicians seem to not think of as gambling).

I'm no lawyer, but I play one TV...
Online poker is legal, while you live in Texas, you're really playing in Aruba, Isle of Wherever, etc...so playing online is legal.
I think it's the getting-your-money and the signing -up-to-play that THE MAN is trying to put a stop to.
If THE MAN makes it so playing online is too much of a hassle then it's about the same thing.

If I'm wrong here, I'm sure there'll be someone along shortly to correct me.
