This usually works for me.. what do u think..
lately i've been doing this a lot.. I've started to Limp in early position with AK.. obv. hoping for a raise. and smooth calling..
For Example: Won a big pot with it just yesterday.. I limped with AK UTG+1 .. LP raises I smooth call.. flop my Ace on a A rag rag board.. check/call Villains bet on the flop and c/r on the turn.. Villain calls my turn c/raise and calls my river value bet with Aj.. My theory behind it is if i do flop my ace.. my ace will be the best ace out there.. and yes I agree it can def. backfire.. and I have no info on the raiser's range PF.. but hey it works for me.. what do u guys think? hate it? like it? |
Re: This usually works for me.. what do u think..
depends on the game. If you don't get raised you're screwed 90% of the time, and even if you do get raised you're still pretty screwed. AK is a hand that has a lot of fold equity, unlike AA-1010, not sure it's a good idea to limp. thoughts?

yes ur right.. It def. works better in a loose game.. I've been applying it at the 5-5 NL game.. and its a VERY loose game..
