Did you win a seat in the ME via internet tourney??

Out of curiosity and to plan for next year or thereafter may I ask you a few questions about your tourney that won you your main event seat?

1. What site did you win on?
2. What was the buyin?
3. How many entrants?
4. How many times did you try and qualify for the seat?
5. If you recall, can you tell me if there were many instances where you had to put a bad beat on others during the tourney to make it all happen?
6. Would you say you had good prior success in MTTs prior to winning your seat?
7. Any interesting comments to share otherwise about your qualifier?

Thanks for taking time to answer.

Player points freerolls on a skin of Pokerroom.
Had to make FT to even get into the tourney that paid the seat.
That tourney only paid one seat, 2nd place got nothing.
First MTT I ever won.

1. PokerBlue.
2. $0. Freeroll for playing four hours on the site.
3. About 150.
4. About five.
5. I don't recall getting my money in bad, but the final hand was going to be a split pot if I hadn't flushed up.
6. Moderately.
7. Nothing really. The level of play was about what you'd see at a $4/180 at Stars.

1. What site did you win on?

[/ QUOTE ]

Stars

[ QUOTE ]
2. What was the buyin?

[/ QUOTE ]

A $5.50 turbo super to a $160 Double Shootout (DS)

[ QUOTE ]
3. How many entrants?

[/ QUOTE ]

I think close to 700 in the first, and 81 in the DS.

4. How many times did you try and qualify for the seat?

[/ QUOTE ]

I believe this was my second try this year. I might have played a $33 but I can't be sure. Obviously it was not an important emphasis in my poker.

5. If you recall, can you tell me if there were many instances where you had to put a bad beat on others during the tourney to make it all happen?

[/ QUOTE ]

I was all in in the first table of the DS with A2 versus AK and spiked a 2.

6. Would you say you had good prior success in MTTs prior to winning your seat?

[/ QUOTE ]

No. I play cash games.

7. Any interesting comments to share otherwise about your qualifier?

a) It seemed pretty easy so I must have gotten hit by the deck.

b) The 8th place finisher in the DS, Doug Kim, simultaneously was playing in a $650 on Stars. After he busted in my tourney He won qualified for the ME. Eventually he finished 7th in the ME good for 2.4 million.

1. stars
2. 650, direct buy with $w
3. ~980
4. 2 320's, 1 350, 8 160 DS, one 535 on full tilt, and this 650
5. no, not really, i tended to get it in with the best of it when i won big pots
6. no, not really, i don't play mtt's, wsop was really my first mtt in a while
7. almost busted around 3 times, funki flopped a set of tens on me in a blind v. blind hand when i had kings and lost a lot of chips, i pushed all in with mid pair against tptk and lost a lot of chips, was about to go all in in the SB with K4o, but was preempted by the button who was called by the BB with QQ.

the qualifier was the last one that stars was running and i was to play 5 days after it happened.

1) Full Tilt
2) $150 SNG -> $1060 MTT
3) 72
4) 3 weeks... probably about 20 satellites. This was my first shot at the $1060.
5) Sort of a bad beat - down to 3 tables, 4 limpers (not typical), I limp in CO with QJ, flop top two, UTG overbet shoves, I call, he had AA and my hand holds. I cruised to the final table from that point.
6) I don't play that many. Biggest score was a ~800 person $22 on Party, came in 6th for $500ish.
7) It took about 2 hours to get to the final table. Once we got there, we got down to 7 really quickly, but with 6 seats awarded, we were on the bubble for 1.5 hours. Two people survived elimination by coming from behind. The chip leader going in ended up bubbling in 7th. I open-shoved like 15 times during the bubble and was never called.

Re: Did you win a seat in the ME via internet tourney??

1- PokerStars
2- 350$+20$
3- 7377
4- only once
5- yes, one big 2 outer I was down fom 54k to 20k after loosing AK to KQ and QQ to 77. I c/r AI a LAG LP raiser in a 3way pot on a 887 flop with 66. There was a reraise behind me and a call... oups

I was up vs A8s and KK, and rivered a 6

6- Kinda, I often make the money and get to the last 2 to 5 tables, but I'm a bad closer (really need to work on this). I had never tryed any WSOP sat because of this. But, back in the days, I used to play FPP or low buy-in sats to the sunday 200$+15$ and take the T$ to play SnG. I got good at that so when I saw the big 150 seats garantied, I figured I finnaly had an edge in a WSOP sat since I'm use to playing large field whit many winning spots.

With 234 spots and 600 plr left, I was chip leader with 220k, close to 3 times the 80k average stack of when we would get to 250 players. So with about 2 hours left I was conforatable enought to fold my way in.

7- when we got to 250 left, I all-in'ed every hand since I had 180k and 2nd leader at my table had 50k. They would have folded Aces insted of playing a pot with me

1. What site did you win on? Poker Stars
2. What was the buyin? $640 I think
3. How many entrants? I forget...but I think they paid like 35 spots, so you can do the math
4. How many times did you try and qualify for the seat? 3 or 4 maybe...don't remember
5. If you recall, can you tell me if there were many instances where you had to put a bad beat on others during the tourney to make it all happen? I don't recall any one in particular, although obviously theres luck in any tourney
6. Would you say you had good prior success in MTTs prior to winning your seat? yes, I have a pretty good track record over a good sample size of online tourneys
7. Any interesting comments to share otherwise about your qualifier? nope
