haha, i have a female math professor from eastern europe with a ridiculously strong accent, and she was trying to explain these things for a good twenty minutes...nobody had any clue what she was talking about for the longest time. it's only optional for us though, which is good cuz its useless for me. BTW, how can the professor tell if you have a clicker or not? Doesn't it just calculate the total votes/answers/whatever, or can it actually show what each individual answered?

I used one in a Sociology class. It was for extra credit and recording attendance.

I had a ~70 year old professor that had NO IDEA what he was doing with the technology. He wasted the first 15 minutes of each class fumbling with his laptop. Swell comedy.

ya we are apparently using it to take attendence (30 person class) and then periodicly he asks do you understand this and we answer on our clicker so no one has to feel dumb raising their hand and saying no. waste of $35.

I'm currently trying to use these pieces of [censored] in the class I'm teaching. So far I've wasted about 20 minutes of class time with this crap. If they don't work immediately tomorrow, I'm telling the department where they can shove them.

Had them in a couple of classes. At best they work 3/4s of the time. Huge waste of time and money IMO. I've started avoiding classes that I know use them. I also never do any homework or reading so they [censored] my marks.
