Favorite threads notification

Alright, so I've got some threads marked as favorites and I appreciate being notified when there's something new in one of them. However, it's pretty ridiculous when I get home and my e-mail inbox is flooded with 40 messages all for the same thread. Is it possible for it to just send me one message? One message saying there's been a post in that thread since the last time I visited the site instead of one message for every single new post? If not, this would be a very good feature to add/modify.

agreed. The way its set up now makes it pretty much unusable.

I guess the server could remember each message it sends you and withhold the next notification if you've been sent one in the last day.

I agree that this would be a better plan, but I'm not really surprised that the functionality is missing.

I belong to several forums that handle topic reply notification in a very usable way.
When there is a reply, you receive one email regardless of the number of replies. Once you have visited the thread, it will send another email if there are further replies, etc.

Unfortunately i don't think you will see any improvements in this area until we upgrade / switch forum software. An Admin can correct me if i'm wrong .
