Pimp my room

This is going to be an ongoing series dedicated to turning my average room into the most amazing room ever. Your input, however good or bad, will be taken into consideration and the success of revitalizing this room depends fully on your involvement.

Through my own decision making, this is the floor plan of the room:

Pictures will come tomorrow of my standard room. This is just to begin and give a general idea of what we are working with.

Currently I have one poster, located on the wall by the bathroom door directly left of the "B", on the highside of the wall (ie it runs from the reach of your fingertips up the wall to around chest level). This will come with the photos when I put them up at like noon.

What I would like to begin with is how best to accomodate the walls. I plan on eventually getting a Plasma HDTV put on the wall above my desk, and I also hope to get a rasterbated picture of this, from Boondock Saints and have it cover the wall on the south side of my room (ie by the bed). this would be painstaking but well worth it imo.

besides that, what are your thoughts on posters, or framed pictures, or other ideas to put on the walls before I focus on other things like a La-Z-Boy or a Plasma TV. I want it to be cool, and though I find posters cool they can also be... I guess juvenile'ish. So with that I take upon your selections in the meantime until I take pictures of the room around lunchtime. Thanks.

generally, i find that posters aren't the greatest decoration for a room. mostly, because the majority of posters that you see in rooms are overused, and that they do not travel well if you plan on moving. if you do find a poster that you love, i'd recommend getting it framed. when you're doing it, ask yourself if you'll still want that poster a year from now.

I think posters can be appropriate if they're framed for starters, and also if they arent the standard Family Guy/Action Movie/Frank Sinatra blah blah etc

I dont think the Boondock Saints rasterbated is a bad idea

I would recommend something like this:

Loft the bed against the window, throw a couch in there. This is the key to all college dormm rooms where space is limited.

I agree that posters are WAY overrated in dorm rooms. Everybody has them...and a lot of people have that Boondock one. Guys always love them, girls couldn't care less. It's all about class....posters like TIEdup has is good..or any "European style" (I really don't know what you call "those ones") is good.

I'd suggest having some sort of Betty Blue poster up, plus a dvd of it. A small poster (even a postcard) will do. You get a chick in, turn the convo to your posters/decor, and then to the movie... you get them watching just the first 5 minutes...bingobangobongo.

Get the normal cut if you can, the longer director's one is too long.

2 drunk chicks...even better...

a loft is key. get a carpet remnant and cut it up to cover exposed surfaces and for underneath the loft. some cushions/pillows, and it can make a cozy tv/reading/whatever spot.
