Infected by what?

Some activity on internetconnection (packets sent and received) before I open any programs.

Mousepointer is moving around, typically to a corner, and mostly start corner. (whilst I am playing poker or browsing or anything else.)

Have used Adaware, Norton, Spybot and Blacklight.
No help.

Anyone got some good advice?

Thanks,

ToT

are you running a firewall? Get ZoneAlarm if you are not, it will stop the connection if you set it to manual mode. You will have to allow every connection that is made (you only have to do it once).

Aside from that, try a free scan from Pest Patrol or Panda.

Some internet activity doesn't suprise me. There are many programs that will go out and check for updates every so often etc. However, the mouse moving around on it's own is strange. I'm with Beavis, get Zone Alarm. There is a free version and I've been using it for years. It's awesome. I only let the programs I want, to access the net.

I have the same problem on mine. That little mouse nub (eraser mouse I think they're called) in the middle of your keyboard is what is causing the mouse pointer to go to the left. It sometimes gets stuck.

A new eraser may help. Since I normally have a mouse plugged into my laptop I don't get the problem that often so haven't bothered to try replacing mine to see if there is a difference.

Cqwahl is correct, if you have a laptop with little mouse in the middle of the keyboard, they do very often cause problems with the mouse floating all over the place. I've run into that many many times on people's laptops. It's a pain in the rear and very annoying. That is also the reason those type of mouse controls are no longer the standard mainstream mouse.

They are probably right, but just in case, I often see people have these issues with a wireless mouse. (either the battery is low or they just have to reset it)
