\"Stop and go\" examples?

Does anyone have any textbook examples of the "stop and go" concept?

There have been quite a few posts recently discussing this.

With the search function, try...

"+stop +go -re" (without the quotes)
-select 'in subject' only
-last 3 months

...should help you out.

Re: \"Stop and go\" examples?

UTG t2950
CO t1200
Button t1900
SB t950
HERO t800

Blinds 50/100

UTG folds
CO raises t300
Button folds
SB folds
HERO calls t200

Pot t650

Flop XXX

HERO is all in t500

------

Basically, the idea is if you're getting short stacked but not microstacked, you can steal a raise from a medium stack when you would have no FE preflop. In the above example, if the CO put in 25% of his stack on a raise , he's almost certainly calling you if you push preflop, for 500 more getting > 2-1 on his money. Instead you just call, then push any flop.

If villain's got overcards that didn't hit, he'll almost certainly fold - there's a big difference to him now between having 900 chips if he folds and 400 if he calls and loses, and he suspects he's behind. He'll miss the flop alot more often than he hits, so you get the advantage of being the first in the pot after the flop.

(If I'm giving any bad thoughts/info here, someone plz correct me)

I wouldn't stop and go there though with many hands. You still have 7BB and a fair bit of fold equity.
