My default: is this spewing?

I raise a hand like QJs or KQs and get a favorable flop but not top pair; say, a flush draw + two overcards, a flush draw + gutshot, second pair + a flush draw, etc. My default is to raise if bet into, bet if checked to and three-bet or cap if I am in position and get the chance, intending to check behind on the turn if I don't have at least a pair.

This has been my standard line with these hands as long as I can remember; bet if checked to, raise if donked into, three-bet a check-raise hoping to check behind on the turn, etc, but lately I am losing tremendous numbers of bets in single sessions and I wonder if this play is just spewing.

depends on the number of opponents, FD+overcards is a huge equity hand worth betting or raising.

if you're in position HU it's worth betting/raising good draws for the cheap (free) turn card.

the only time you might consider not going berserk is when you're HU + oop.

but as a standard line, these hands are worth pumping. Just bear in mind at higher limits people will be aware of this and will have methods to counteract it.

It really depends a whole lot on the situation. In addition to the points Peter made we have to consider that there often is a trade off concerning the bets going in on the flop (with a small edge) and those on the expensive streets (with a huge edge) in case you hit. Especially as fastplaying flush draws has become a play that even weak players are catching on to.

I think HU + oop is the perfekt time to go berserk with overcards + flushdraw.

Really? I think one of the primary reasons to take this line is to have the option of a free river card. Do you just keep hammering on the turn even if you don't improve?

OOP I'm more passive but in position, these lines are standard for me.
