3rd hand $20 180 Stars SNG
The third hand of the tournament. Blinds 10-20. I raised hand 2 and took the pot down with a half sized cont. bet.
I get QQ in MP1. I raise to 80. MP2 pushes all-in (1500) Folds to me. What should my action be? |
Re: 3rd hand $20 180 Stars SNG
It's still very early in the tourney and eventhough you did not show down on hand #2, I believe that the reraiser doesn't have enough information on you or your style of play. This move feels like an over bet, attempting to push you out of the pot. His hand can range from AA/KK (which is hard to put him on) - low PP, AK, or various face cards. I feel an all in call is the right play here, because more often than not you have the best hand.
Some times he will turn up AA/KK and you're going broke. However, you have too strong of a hand here to let this go. Most of the time he'll tur up 10's or AJs and you'll be in great shape |

OK. Thanks everybody. My analysis during the hand was the same as WM's and I made the call.

Results don't matter. I just needed a sanity check.
But if you must know, KK. |

Re: 3rd hand $20 180 Stars SNG
In the 180's I dont like to gamble with my entire stack early on...
most of the players are so bad in thoes that you can build a stack without taking that risk. I do think that it's +EV to call, but if you have a large skill edge.(aka, in a stars 180) I think you can wait to get your money in until after you have reads. |
