Typical situation
 

Let's call it 30/60 partypoker. You raise 88 in mid position. Typical mediocre player cold calls in late position. Another typical mediocre guy calls in the big blind. Let's say these guys are 24/9/1.1 types.

Flop Q72 with 2 hearts. BB bets out. What is your standard play?

Lately when I raise the guy has a Q, when I fold he don't. I'm thinking I should just pick one line and stick with it and stop driving myself nuts.

Sounds like my last week of poker.

Anyway I think raising is the better default line.

I think raising > calling > folding so I keep my default to raise. He'll start having 78 again once im out of mhy breakeven stretch.

I like raising... fold if he lead bets the turn

Hmm, this is a little tough because his AF is pretty low. If it were 1.5+, I'd raise for sure. The donk bet usually signifies weakness, as he's not trying to trap MP for bets. With passives, though, I see anything from bottom pair to a set here. That being said, though, I'd still raise.

I would definitely raise this in the middle (I feel like I'm saying that a lot lately on here). BB could easily bet out a hand like: a heart draw, a pair of sevens, or maybe something like 10's he just called out of the BB (or even something random like AJ or AK on occasion). I think you need to drive the person behind you out and take control of the hand - this will avoid more costly mistakes later.

Also, if you raise, he should fear AQ unless he is maniacal. If later actions suggest he doesn't they will be more reliable than had you just called (generally).

So why not raise when you have a heart?

Keep raising. It will be right play eventually.
