Is this a good MLB prop bet??
 

Me and a friend got into a huge argument the other night about strength of the NL vs strength of the AL. While I conceded that the AL was the stronger league, I did not agree with him that the gap was overwhelmingly substantial. He talked about how the NL Central and NL West were a complete joke.

Ok, so long story short, he basically widdled it down to the Mets being the only NL team with a shot. I scoffed saying he was just making an off the cuff remark and didn't really mean that. Then he put his money where his mouth is. He took 2 to 1 and the Mets to reach the World Series.

I put up $50.
He put up $25.
Whoever's team makes the World Series representing the NL wins.
He has the Mets.
I have the field.

Good bet for me?

Yes, this is a good bet for you. Pinnacle currently has the mets to win the NL at +300. So your friend should be getting 75-25 odds rather than 50-25.

Very true. Especially this early, any team can start making a big run and one or two injuries can keep the Mets out. Plus there's the Cardinals...
