NL 1/2 - Weak Tight needs feedback...KK vs LAG
 

Looking for feedback...I feel this was played really weak.

Over 30 hands villian is 32/23/8.0 and has played a wide range of hands aggressively...he's dominating the table. At the time my table image (reality? [img]/images/graemlins/confused.gif[/img]) is pretty Weak/Tight 20/11/1.43 - only garbage showed down out of blinds.

This is a situation where I've been trapped a number of times...big overpair with a mid-paired/mid-coordinated board...I've played it fast and been caught by the trips/set too often.

As played, I folded to the turn bet. My reasoning was that with his $49 lead ($111 in the pot), I was basically committing the rest of my stack ($145) with any meaningful raise at this point in the hand. Figured with this board and the larger range Villian could have, it was best to release than put my stack in play on a pair vs the many made hands that beat me he could have.

How do others play this flop against this type of opponent (large hand range)? Pot the turn...Re-raise his check-raise...then if he pushes...give him credit and release?

Thoughts welcome...

raise more pf. bet more on the flop.

3 bet flop is fine. Calling with the intention of getting it in on turn is fine. Basically, were going to play a big pot against this guy.

Against a nit, you can worry here. Or if you have solid tight image, and another solid, tight player whos been staying away from you, maybe. No matter what ill have a hard time not getting stacked here.

But against tough tricky player whos been running over you? This is great hand.

Thanks for the reply, Lucky. I've recently moved to NL$1/2 (3k hands)and am adjusting to the aggression factor...seems to be more playing back at you and less effectiveness of CB (at least at Party vs UB where I also play).

I'm not sure I like a push here, but I would definitely not fold.

He could easily have a hand like T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] for a combo draw and a pair. A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

And if he has a flush or straight then you have outs.

by just calling the flop you allow the lag to put you on a decision for your stack on the turn while he can still fold. the turn brought a great card for a lag and he did just that.
by 3betting the flop you are the one to reach the critical pressure point first and villain has to decide whether he wants to get his stack in there.
as played i would basically go with my gut (which is usually some semi-reasonable subconscious read). i assume he would 3bet preflop with TT or 99 when defending his blinds so you probably got some flush outs. difficult decision but i would probably not fold against this kind of player
