Soap Opera Actresses (Hopefully NSFW)
 

I work in network TV and they happen to do pilot casting and series casting on our floor. Recently, for some reason, they've also started doing soap opera casting (right now it's All My Children).

I've never watched an episode of a soap opera before in my life. But I may have to start - cause seriously - WTF the women coming in for casting are all easily 9s and 10s. It's ridiculous. And these potential soap actresses blow away those that come in for series and pilot casting for network shows. I guess this makes sense - but I was pretty shocked.

So who the [censored] are all these women? I'm pretty sure now I'm completely missing out. I'm thinking OOT is not the best place to come ask this question, but I don't know where else to turn.

For soaps, looks are more important than acting ability.

Sam - have you watched any? I have a TV in my office so I just flipped one on. Seems like these chicks are like "above-average standard TV hot". Which is fine of course - but I'm not being blown away. Who knows maybe these particular casting sessions called for "ridiculously hot actresses".

Please note that for every hot chick on a soap, there is an equally haggered looking 40-something starlet. The hot chick turnover is actually quite high.
