Pseudo URL in Location
User ace_in_the_hole currently has a location of "2outer.blogspot," which is obviously a plug for his website.
I PMed him once and told him to change it when it was http;//...etc, and he changed it to this. Have him change it again? |

Have him change it again? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, and let me know if he continues to be difficult about it. |
Re: Pseudo URL in Location
Will do.
PM Sent. [ QUOTE ] It is against 2+2 policy to have urls in your location. I know that "technically" this isn't a URL, but it is obvious enough what it is refering to. Please change it. Thanks, Jim [/ QUOTE ] |
Re: Pseudo URL in Location
Mat said URL's in profiles are OK last time I asked.

URLs are not allowed in the location field. Here's a long thread about it:

Re: Pseudo URL in Location

URLs are not allowed in the location field. Here's a long thread about it: Link [/ QUOTE ] OK, here are the operative pronouncements from Mat from that thread: [ QUOTE ] people can put whatever they like in their profile. there should be no url in the location [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] People can put anything in their profile, but directing people to one's profile in the location or adding the link to a post would require too much investigative work on our part to be allowed. [/ QUOTE ] So suspending the requirement of logical consistency, the overriding statement appears to be no links in the location field. I agree it makes sense to not allow URLs in profile fields that display as part of the post. |
