88 preflop omfg so cute

hi

it is folded to a very tight aggressive (preflop) but quite fit or fold/weak (postflop) player who open raises in MP2.

the CO 3-bets. he's been raising a lot of hands. i think he's a wild lag but i'm not sure about this.

what do i do, having 88 in the SB?

if it matters, the BB is folding.

He is asking if he should fold, call or 4-bet.

I say on average you are getting 3-1 if you call (possibly capped, but not always) so you don't have set value. You have to make up too many bets when you hit. I fold.

Hmm boy, I think you're talking about me in the first paragraph.

This is a 'how well do you think you play post-flop' question. If you think you can push TAG out post-flop if lows come, and get out cheap when high-cards come (or he shows aggression beyond overs) then a call would be fine.

A call might also give you a hint on whether he's got a high pp or not, if he caps or not.

KO

Since the read on the probable LAG is vague I didn't give him too wide of a range. Edit it how you see fit.

equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
Hand 1: 32.5880 % 31.40% 01.19% { 77+, A8s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, ATo+, KJo+ }
Hand 2: 37.8336 % 36.56% 01.27% { 77+, ATs+, KQs, AJo+ }
Hand 3: 29.5784 % 29.15% 00.43% { 88 }

Edit: If you are playing I think you should cap, though.

I'm folding against all but the weakest post-flop players. We aren't getting the odds for set value, and at absolute best we have to dodge 2-4 overcards.

If we're OTB you can make a stronger argument for capping , but we're OOP.

Does MP2 cap CO's 3-bet 100%? Does CO look like he's nutty postflop also, or just preflop? Can CO find a fold postflop, or are you going to have to show down the best hand?

MP2 capping, especially if that doesn't allow you to narrow his hand range, makes me want to muck. Same if the answer is "yes" or "I don't know" to the two questions about CO. Your implieds aren't great in this situation, unless BOTH you and MP2 hit, and you're going to be nervous playing against about half the deck if it's HU between you and CO.
