Gus up 1.4 Million in 42 hours?

From High Stakes Report
"As if collecting over $700K during a 13-hour period in the $200/$400 PL Omaha games on Full Tilt Poker wasn’t enough, the Great Dane managed to nearly duplicate the feat the very next day. Resting for just eight hours before going at it again, Gus Hansen raked in a $619K+ win after 21 hours at the table. A couple of other six-figure winners were “Da Munsta” ($169K+) and Patrik “FinddaGrind” Antonius ($146K+). Those on the bottom of the list included Dustin Dirksen (-$81K), Niki Jedlicka (-$88K), “Jigga100″ (-$101K), “trex313″ (-$104K), and Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies (-$280K). Summing up Hansen’s sick run, his $76K+ heads-up win over Dirksen included would put him at over $1.4 million during a 42-hour stretch playing some Pot-Limit Omaha."

From the few times I have watched his games, I can only conclude that Gus is now running good as opposed to previously awful..

helps that he 1 outed one guy for a huge pot, I dont have the hand to show, but he was undersetted on the flop, and hit on the river.

Most ultra high stakes players spread the damage...common knowledge. There are posts here with 3 way discussions. Only about 25% of the ultra high stakes players use only there dime and they tend to be gazzilionaires like Guy from Cirque.

3 hours later, Gus Hansen loses his 1.4 Million in a Roshambo match with Phil Gordon.

no way gus himself is playing that account all the time. i mean, he´s just terrible most of the time and all of a sudden, he wins 1 mill ++ in no time. this is actually the 2nd time this year, he won almost 2 mill on tilt in less than one week before the wsop.

If you see the hands, you know it's Gus. He puts in big money in very very marginal situations

Borderline stakes? Asperger stakes? I'm sure someone can come up with a good name.

LOL if you don't think risking the avg pretax US salary isn't highstakes poker. 2+2 must really screw people up. This is a lot of money, even for poker.

Re: Gus up 1.4 Million in 42 hours?

Yeah the session swings are the size of a lifetime salary in an average second world country.

Maybe that's a good name, lifetime salary stakes.

He's losing some stacks right now. He never folds!!!! Raptor and Durr shortstack hitnrunning him also right now. Jumper17 owns Gus' soul. Jumper just plays solid plo and Gus deposits directly into his account!! I just dont understand it.

Re: Gus up 1.4 Million in 42 hours?

random story from Niagara:

Myself and a bunch of p5 allstars are playing sundays in the lobby 50 feet away from the tournament room, since Sunday is our day off and the area we are using (for press) is the only place in the entire f'n city that has working wireless internet.

Every break in the tournament, Gus Hansen comes over to my laptop to check on the big games and, like any pro, is perplexed at a young person's capacity to play 8 games of PLO at once.

Anyways when the day is done we offer for him to use our laptop so "we can learn from the best" and he smiles and declines, saying "Well, there's really not all that much to it, you know?" as he gestured the motioning of pushing a lot of chips forward.

anyways sorta lame story but essentially gus is a cool guy and is indeed on a sick run this month.

Re: Gus up 1.4 Million in 42 hours?

Im talking about his current session. He calls huge bets, and all ins with bottom pair no draw on a 2 flush board constantly and other ridiculous plays. I havent seen him fold to a raise ONCE. LITERALLY.
