Ron Paul fans being censored on some conservative sites.

Seems like some people dont like the internet-revolution that much... Paul Devotees Spark Online Backlash

[ QUOTE ]
Two high-profile conservative blogs, redstate.com and littlegreenfootballs.com, have issued selective bans on the more disruptive Paul supporters trolling the sites. And this month, Bobby Eberle, who runs the site GOPUSA.com, addressed an open letter to Paul backers urging civility.

Eberle’s letter took pains to note that he wasn’t singling out Paul supporters per se but rather “the aggressive network of online fans who bombard discussion boards, spam Web sites, flood online polls, and behave in a manner that puts their candidate in an extremely bad light.”

[/ QUOTE ]

[ QUOTE ]
“The typical e-mail from a Ron Paul supporter often contains profanity and is filled with name-calling and attacks on the other candidates,” he says. “They throw out slurs such as ‘neo-con’ or ‘fake Republican’ or ‘sheeple’ or ‘jerks’ or worse. They say people are ‘stupid,’ ‘idiots,’ ‘traitors,’ and worse for not supporting Ron Paul .”

In addition, Paul’s backers have spoiled the fun when the site has sponsored unscientific polls to gauge the popularity of the Republican field. In September, when Eberle sponsored one such poll, Paul’s backers bombarded the site. Paul ended up with 66 percent of the vote.

[ QUOTE ]
Meanwhile, last month, redstate.com barred newly registered users from writing any pro-Paul commentary on the site. “Effective immediately, new users may not shill for Ron Paul in any way shape, form or fashion. Not in comments, not in diaries, nada,” wrote Leon Wolf, a senior editor for the Web site.

Well some people claim that Paul has schmoozed with neo-nazi's. One claim I've read is that an organization called the American Free Press is neo-nazi fron group. Paul has written at least a few columns for them about various issues.

BFD.

Why wouldn't a conservative site like redstate.com want to restrict Ron Paul support? That site is in no way a champion for real liberty and government restraint like Paul advocates. They have a right to filter opposing viewpoints as it is their site. And we have a right to say their site is a POS and never go there or encourage others to go there.

kaj,

I think it's prudent to expose these groups for what they really are. I agree that they certainly have the right to do with their site what they want. But if someone on that site thinks that the Ron Paulitards are shutting up because they have lost their gusto...well they should have an avenue to know that the Paulitards have not gone away, they are just forced to move to more freer avenues of discourse. Thankfully people like bedevritter and other Paulitards are around giving people a heads up.

Which is exactly the point of Bed's post.

A neo-nazi front group is different than allowing a diversity of opinion. The accusation is that Paul is lending his tacit approval to the neo-nazi's by writing for their sites. Also neo-nazi's are alleged to contribute to his campaigns and his columns are provide way to solicit those contributions.

That's what's out there. Your "shooting the messenger" when you challenge me.

I wish twoplutwo would track down on the Ron Paul avatar trolls but apart from that they should be allowed to troll pro-Ron Paul propoganda as much as they feel necessary, at least in the Politics forum.

There was a pro-Ron Paul OP in the NVG section the other day which is pretty standard.

Clearly you do not understand what a troll is. Don't worry about NVG having the threads- their commie admin will move them here and insult the poster.
