NL5 : Is this spew?

Villain is a solid player -- haven't seen him gone out of line. However, his flop cbet looked suspiciously too high (preventing any callers) and therefore I put his range on KK-TT, AK. I considered calling but thought that raising was much better. Do I have the necessary FE to think that raising is better? Spew? Fancy Play Synd? Please comment.

Re: NL5 : Is this spew?

Yes, it is spewy.

At 5 NL, you dont need to be making fancy moves like this. Just fold this flop and get your chips in later when you are heavy favorite to have the best hand

Also the flop bet isnt *TOO* suspicious, its basically pot sized, nothing very ridiculous

With two players in a raised pot, you can be pretty certain that at least one has an ace. Check/fold this and get your money in in a better spot.

Yeah, I like the initial preflop raise but with the reraise preflop, 3 callers and the ace on the flop, I'd slow down and check/fold flop.

Ah just fold the flop, no need for that at this level.

Seriously, just play premium-ish (top 15-20%) of hands. When you connect with what you feel is the best hand bet out 3/4 to a pot sized bet.

If you get bored playing so few hands...multitable and there will always be one hand to be interested in.

And yes, its spew.

Yes, this is spew....... you already said Villian is a solid player and he has reraised you PF, I guess you could fold out KK/QQ , but to be honest Bottom Pr? I would let it go

Thanks all for the honest comments!

I guess I try to be overly tricky at this level and should just wait for opportunities to present themselves rather than force them.

However, what do you guys think of the image I now present when I do things like this -- people might be more inclined to go up against me and when I have a monster -- that'd be gold!
