Cardrooms in Italy? (Venice, Florence, Rome)

I am going on vacation to Italy on Friday for a week and am looking to find any casinos or cardrooms while I am there. I'f like to find NL or Limit HE if possible but low stakes Omaha games are fine too. Any information at all would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

This falls into the 'any info' part, sorry it is not more specific.

Venice has two casinos, one for the summer one for the winter. I do not know if they spread any poker game.

I have been to a casino in Tuscany that didnt spread poker.

jesus christ, give poker a rest while you're in those beautiful cities.

Everytime this topic comes up (will be away in X, is there poker? where X = some location with plenty to see and do outside poker) the OP gets cut down like this.

I always find that reaction a bit unwarranted.

In spirit I know where it's coming from. Even other poker enthusiasts are right to point out that there are rich experiences in location X that should be enjoyed besides poker.

But there are good reasons to want to play poker on vacation, even in a really scenic spot.

1) Although M&M poker is more widely available than ever, it is not ubiquitous. Plenty of people live hundreds of miles from the nearest live game. They may have work and family obligations that make B&M rare. So why not look for it on vacation?

2) You can spend all day taking in the sights, without having many options at night. After dinner and a stroll, you may be really limited to bars and nightclubs. What's the matter with poker as an alternative?

3) Poker can actually be pretty cool in that you can sit down and engage with locals socially as you play.

4) It's not an all or nothing activity. It's possible to play one night on vacation and leave plenty of time for anything else.

I agree -- nothing wrong with doing a hobby, be it poker or whatever on vacation. While in Venice years ago, I played golf. Golf was not big in Italy then (not sure it is now, either), and I simply walked onto the Venice course, although it was a private club, rented a set of clubs and played. No one else was playing (and it was a weekend afternoon), although a large group of members were barbecuing a whole pig outside the clubhouse. We also made time to rent a motorboat and cruise the canals, wander the city, eat great foods, go to Murano and Guideca and do many other activities. But I still remember my round of golf fondly.

Two casinos in Venice that I know of. I went to the one outside the city (more informal). No TEXAS HOLD'EM. Only house games. I don't think that the more formal one inside the city has poker either. I don't think there is any casino based Hold'em anywhere in Italy, but could be wrong.

You could go to Dario Minieri's home game.
