NL400 - JJ oop, river call?

I've only played about 40 hands with villain, despite the fact that he doesn't sit on a fullstack he seems solid, TAGish. He's running at 21/17/3 (still only about 40 hands, no mining). I don't think he have played any larger pots and he haven't showed down any hands. I've been playing 24/20 but I haven't been in any larger pots either, he probably haven't took any notice to me. I post my logic later on.

I don't like it at all. Yeah, he reps a pretty small range, but I don't know why he would turn a small pair/king into a bluff on river etc

not a fan of calling river. I don't think he's valuebetting worse, and I don't think this line is a bluff very often

Re: NL400 - JJ oop, river call?

On the turn I figured the best play was to check and vbet river, but when the ace hit I thought a vbet with jacks would be a little to thin, he can easily put me on an ace and he probably wont pay me off with anything worse. Instead I check and he bets, but in my eyes his line doesn't make any sense. On the flop he could easily call with a king or lower pp, he might peel an ace and probably float air once in a while. My standard here is to check turn and extract value from pp's at river, if he fires I will usually call atleast once. But when he checks behind I think hes range is heavily weighted to low pp hands wanting a cheap showdown. What TAG would check an unhit ace here?, I guess he could check a king but most of the time he probably bets it? So I really don't see anything that beats me very likely at the river, it could be a vbet from a king, but most players check it behind here. I would vbet but I think most opponents don't. So it's either a vbet from a king or a small pp turned into a bluff most of the time. I guess it could be an ace and total air to, but the probability for that is very small and about equal, so I just rule 'em out against eachother. But all in all I think he will have a small pp a majority of the time, and I onlu need to be good 31% of the time so I call.

Thoughts? Obv. I can't have and I don't have this good of a read (40 hands), it's made much of logical guesses and of how a TAGish opponent at the site plays. I really think I will be good >31% of the time.
