50NL Set w/scary river

UTG folds, Hero raises to $2, 4 folds, SB calls $1.75, BB folds

Flop: ($4.50) 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)

River: ($20.50) 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets $10, Hero?

Obviously I'm not folding here, but should I just smooth call or reraise for value here? I don't exactly love that river card. Does anything I beat actually call if I do reraise?

With a straight draw and flush draws being made on the river I just pussy call.

bet more on the turn.
raise river to 25 or so.
and yes, hands that you beat will call a raise.

I shove here for sure. There are many smaller sets/two pair hands that you are losing value from by just calling. He may have hit a straight but i think that its a relatively small portion of his range and the backdoor flush is extremely unlikely.

Care to explain your reasoning on why this is a shove? Hero and SB are both relativly deep, a shove on the river is a pretty large reraise, what type of hands are you expecting to call here? Can we put worse sets in his range of hands to be played so slow? Hands XT type hands I don't think call a shove on the river either after the previous action. Isn't much of his range hands like A3hh, A4hh, A5hh, 56s?

Does he have a worse set here enough that a shove is getting paid off?

Or am I totally missing the point and we are shoving for a totally different reason?

There are really only two likely smaller sets, 33 and 44, I don't think 22 would have gotten to the river here, although you never know. What type of two pair hands are you putting in SB's range here, we can discount hands like T7, sicne we have 77. Are we really thinking he shows up w/ 23s, 24s, T2s here?

I prefer this to a shove. It looks like a showdown-bet to me, so raise for value.

[/ QUOTE ]I agree, esp. with the turn part, build that pot up their since you're deeper than 100bbs. I'd bet $8. On the river I wouldn't shove because if you get all in on the river you're not going to be winning.
