Live NL - How much of a disadvantage do I have?

Florida law limits the buyin to a NL game to $100. If I get to the poker room when all the games are well under way, and 3 or more players have stacked up to $300-500, how much of a disadvantage will I be at coming to the game with just $100? I'm talking about $1/$2 blinds.

Should I just forget about it and make it a point to get there when the room opens so I'm starting on an even playing field (at least chip-wise) with everyone else?

I'm trying to transition from LHE online to live NLHE. Reading this forum and some books, as well as practicing with low-level NLHE online and Poker Academy Pro.

Just play TPTK as the nuts with 50bb's and you will double up quick enough to stack your competition.

As long as you can rebuy you have no disatvantage playing a shorter stack.

I have a feeling this is a serious question (which it shouldn't be)...and because of that there is no inherit "short stack disadvantage" but it's obvious you're not a very good poker player so I'll say a slight disadvantage.

you should add the caveat that he is only at a slight disadvantage due to rake, because the play at these games is beyond attrocious

This reminds me of the old Party Poker days where if you only got 50bbs to play with.

Get yerself TPTK, get yerself all in, now you have 100bbs and are in position to play poka.

When I used to play at the indian casinos where 1/2 was a 100 buy in (and 5/5 was a 200 buy in) you just try to get a hand early and double up.

I'd come to the table and you'd have two people with stacks of 1000+. These are the guys who are going to gamble to get your measly 100 bucks because they think they can push everyone around.

Play the game, have fun.
