Taking my lumps with Kings?

Villain1 is definitely LAG, prone to cold calling preflop, and capable of bluffing turn or river. Don't know much about Villain2 except he's likely TAG.

Sportsbook.com 2/4 8 full game

Hero is in middle with K [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

one fold to Villain1 who limps early
one fold to another limper, middle
another limper calls followed by another fold
Hero raises
3 folds
Villain2 cold calls on button
Villain1 calls as does the other limper

Flop (4-way, 8 sb):

2 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain2 checks, Villain1 bets, extra limper calls, Hero raises, Villain2 calls, Villain1 raises, extra limper folds, Hero calls, Villain2 calls

Not terribly happy about this flop. Raised to keep pressure on/gain info; chasers have odds no matter what I do--difficult to protect here, but folding not an option. Villian1's re-raise does not concern me, but Villain2's calls make me suspicious of chasing.

Turn (9.5 BB):

K [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villian2 checks, Villian1 bets, Hero calls, Villain2 (check)raises, Villain1 calls, Hero calls

Crap. Don't like check-raise at all but pot size compels me to call, hoping for board to pair, preferably a diamond. Villan2's preflop button cold call indicates big cards, probably suited, but my read is based on small sample so I can't be sure. The only good news hers is Villain1 slowed down.

River (15.5 BB):

3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

Villain2 bets, Villain1 folds, Hero calls

Crap. Crap! Pretty sure I'm beat but not enough to fold on the end for one bet.

General comments/analysis welcome. Also, is this just a lump to take or did I blow it?

Much obliged

I would have raised the turn. As played, you have to call when it is 1 back to you.

The river is a fold, villain has done his upmost to get as many bets in as he can, the 4 flush is not scaring him.

Raise turn, fold river.

Did Villain2 call preflop from BB or SB? He can't be on the Button based on postflop action. If he was in the blinds his range is wider than from the button.

Well, the flop is drawy but you probable still have a pretty nice equity edge here.

Your flop raise is for value first and foremost. I'd cap the flop too.

If you are not concerned by Villain1's reraise and you think Villain2 is drawing why do you not cap? You're only behind sets (which are possible) and 43 (not as likely as sets), and maybe behind in equity to monster draws like 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].

Yes, raise the turn first time in when you hit your set. A raise just might muck some small diamonds.

Your flop line could look something like overcards: you raised flop to get a free card or clear outs or whatever but were then concerned about the reraise and didn't cap. Then you only call the turn bet -> it doesn't still look like you necessarily hold anything else than maybe a AQ or AJ where one is a [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Villain2 could be raising a TP style hand here too, sometimes.

I sure wouldn't overcall the river but would call, as played, because IMO you underrepped your overpair/top set and the pot is big enough to err on the side of calling. Villain2 could be doing a Clarkmeister here too with a TP... i.e. bet-folding less than a flush here.

Yes, you lose to a flush most of the time.

River is a fold, he'd have to be insanely aggressive to check/raise turn - > lead river into two players who called the check raise without a diamond, although maybe a smaller set that spazzes out at the river without thinking might bet there thinking of folding small diamonds.

Hmm. This makes sense.

I might be overestimating the chance of aggressive TP (or lower set). This is a 3-way (big) pot -> it is more likely they have the hands they represent than if this were HU.

I still think Hero did underrep his hands both flop and turn which might encourage aggression from weaker hands, if they pay attention.

Headsup, I'm not folding top set for one bet on the river.

You will certainly get shown top pair enough to make this call.

I would cap the flop, and only call the turn if you capped the flop.

As you played it I would raise the turn and fold the river.

Cap the flop for value and also to make the hand play out easier on the big streets. Once you cap the flop and get led into again by villian you know he has a big hand.

Oops. You're right. V2 was in BB. Thanks for pointing it out.

Although we're the minority here, the river is a MUST call simply because the odds REQUIRE it. This is small stake/loose limit poker. Folding might be appropriate in middle stakes (10/20) and up, but otherwise not. However, I would NOT have OVERCALLED.
