Is this game really all about the big pots?

When you set out to play a session do you plan to make money by winning a few big pots, or by taking down a bunch of small ones?

From my limited experience it seems like the big pots come around very rarely and that most of my winning sessions are results of me taking down the blinds a lot and maybe busting a really short stack or two. How do you generally expect your profits to roll in when you decide to sit down for a few hours or so?

combination of both dude. you cant just go out and try to do one or the other. just try to make as few mistakes as possible.

Full Ring seems to be 9 people waiting around to flop a set and hope an over pair pays them off....

I am surprised at how much different it is than 6max

It's true most people play like this in FR. So many people are trying to flop sets because terrible players make it so profitable. I don't get the difference between getting someone heads up with 6 or 9 people at the table. Are people willing to play more hands in 6max?

BTW your avatar rocks.

People are willing to go further with marginal hands in 6 max and people are playing more hands especially out of the blinds because the blinds come up a lot more often then in full ring

I think this is the best example of 6 max v FR. With AK on A or K rag rag flop in 6 max I'm good with getting it all. I'm FR if I get it all in I'm looking at a set 75% of the time(arbitrary number, but I think it's close).
