I do it all the time. It's one of my favorite ways to start a sentence. But then again I am a pretty terrible writer.

How about this mercurial compromise:

Include commas and whatnot when starting sentences with But, And, or other subordinate propositions.

Can you include a spell check and grammer check?

How about autofix so that these kids learn how to spell correctly, instead of typing stuff like:

imo
thx
gg
etc.

I like "but" to start sentences more than "and." And has lots of good adverb synonyms, whereas but does not.
