Won $ at SD NLCASH

I have only played 2500 NL HU hands, and am up 9 BB/100 (not a brag since God knows 2500 hands means nothing). But my question is that my "Won $ at SD" is only 43%, which obviously means I'm winning more than my share of big pots and losing more than my share of small ones.

But my question is, for a winning player is it the same as 6max where you can expect to have a "Won $ at SD" of close to 50, and preferably more like 52ish? Or does it not mean that much in HU.

From what I've seen of others stats, don't be surprised if your won $ at sd is less than 50%, this number includes suckouts + the hands where it gets checked down to the river, etc. Doesn't seem like this is that important of a stat in HU, BB/100 is though =)

Mine is 52.5%. Don't pay attention to it, I don't think it's very important.

I think it can be a very interesting stat to look at but it takes a huge sample size to give any meaningful info.

Over 94k hands of HU I have a 48.35% WSD mostly because I'm a payoff wizard (something I'm trying to get away from).

All good players are POWs (not joking).

48% WSD seems to be "ideal" if there is such a thing. I still will go to showdown a lot HU, but there's a few spots where calling is just awful.

Here's probably one of the worst hands I've played in months:

Full Tilt Poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $1/$2 Blinds - 2 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

Hero (BB): $311.75
SB: $660.00

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB raises to $6.00, Hero raises to $20.00, SB calls $14.00

Flop: ($40) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $35.00, SB calls $35.00

Turn: ($110) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players)
Hero bets $80.00, SB raises all-in to $605.00, Hero calls all-in for $176.75
Uncalled bet of $348.25 returned to SB

River: ($623.50) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players - 2 All-In)

Pot Size: $623.50 ($0.50 Rake)

SB had 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (a straight, Eight high) and WON (+$311.25)
Hero had K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (two pair, Kings and Fives) and LOST (-$311.75)

Worst thing about it is that I said to myself "lead turn, fold to push" Dunno why I called.

Re: Won $ at SD NLCASH

A lot depends on your style of play. Players that regularly fire two or three barrels will win tons of pots without showdown, have a low to mid 40s W$SD% number, but will still be winning at a good rate. Tighter, more passive players may win 52%+ showdowns but have a lower winrate due to losing so many smaller pots when they fold. And then there's the checked down pots which are basically coinflips but if you're running bad then some days you can't even win those, vice versa if you're running hot. Basically I don't think the number means that much unless it's really extreme over a large sample.

Yeah that's a pretty big problem for POW's, haha. We have a plan, but when something happens, our discipline is questioned.
