how to mix powder into liquids?

I cant do it without getting clumps of powder in my beverage. What is the secret technique to homogeneously dispersed powder based beverages? Someone in OOT must know.

Put the wet stuff on the dry stuff and stir.

This doesn't work. And before anyone says it, "stir better" also doesn't work.

Buy a cocktail/martini shaker and use that.

What are you mixing, protein shake? A martini shaker works well, or a blender.

I like to start with the powder and a small amount of liquid. Mix it real good like, then top it off and mix again.

Instead of stirring in a circular motion around the edge of the cup. This just causes the powder to spin in a circle without dissolving well. Agitate the water more by moving your spoon vertically instead. Kinda hard to explain, if I can find a video, I'll post it.

Yes. I'll go buy a martini shaker and give that a try.

I use an old jar that originally held halved peaches. It even has half cup increments marked off on the side. Dry stuff first, add liquid, cap it and shake.
