I potted the flop knowing I would fold to a reraise.
Turn: 9s ($3.2, 2 players)
phanekim bets $3.05, MP1 calls.

Uncalled bets: $8.85 returned to MP1.

Should I 1/2 pot the river and assume my opponent hasnt slow played top fh or backflushed?

Against more agressive opponents I lean towards a check/call whereas against passive opponents a check/fold is in order. Betting will most likely only get a call from a hand that beats you.

This guy lost a hand a little later calling river with Q flush vs Ace high flush. He had bet the flop and turn of that hand. The reason why I wondered about my fold was because i dont know what hand he could have gotten to the river with. I dont think 8s full or 9s full is likely, jt87 is possible but he didnt raise the turn.

If you check and he bets, I just can't fathom a hand that would bet into you that you would beat. I'd say backdoor flushes as well as possibly 66644 boats are checking this river a large percentage of the time. I check/fold here and cuss at the screen.

Your post is just another variation of this one. I.E., a board set in an unraised pot out of position. And if you had made an underfull on the turn or river it would still be the same situation. Take one stab and be done with it, and check/folding the flop can't be wrong either.

I understand. One major difference, The one you linked I was reraised on the flop. This one my flop bet was called and I turned a str8. If he reraised me on either the flop or turn, I would have abandoned it.

Whereas if he just smoothcalls with a better hand and lets you donk off as much of your stack as you are able (and still can bluff you off if he can't beat you and you blink) that's playing right on your part?
