Found DVD\'s in parking lot; Ethics vs Practicality

So last night I pull into work at the animal hospital and find a mini DVD case in a parking lot shared by clients and employees alike. For some reason i pick it up, put it on the trunk of my car and forget about. When I get home after work i notice that it survived the trip home on the trunk of my car. Interesting.

Looking through it, it is full of kids/family dvd's complimented by a spongebob sticker. It probably fell out of a mini van with a DVD player in it. What obligation do I have to try to find the rightful owner?

Right now my plan is to ask around employees at work, and assume that if a client lost it then they are long gone anyway. Eitherway, I'll probably be giving most of the DVD's away to some moms at work.

For those interested the Inventory consists of:

The Princess Diaries*
Cast Away*
Terminator 2**
Spongebob Squarepants the movie*
The Haunted Mansion (w/ Eddie Murphy)
Finding Nemo**
7th heaven: the complete first season
The Little Mermaid
Sweet Home Alabama*
Maid in Manhattan (w/ J-Lo)
A Bug's Life
The Fox and the Hound**
Masquerade Madness (made by Mateel, I assume it's Barbie related)*
Tarzan
Backstreet Boys disc 3
The Iron Giant
Dinosaur*
Ice Age disc 2: Bonus Material

*Movies i might watch once
**Movies I might keep

... just turn it into the receptionist... the DVDs in that case suck anyways... not like youll make any big score by keeping them

LOL @ Terminator 2

One of these things is not like the other...

Anyways, your ethical obligations in this situation are nil. Do what you will - turn them in, keep them, skeet shoot them, whatever.

If you wanna be nice about I say wait a couple days to see if anyone asks the receptionist about them. No big deal either way though.

Congratulations. You just found 18 frisbees in their original cases.

I'd watch out for Alobar hiding in your parking lot with a pellet gun.

I read the title and thought you ahd found an intereseting DVD entitled 'Ethics vs Practicality'. Dissapointed. Break the discs you dont want and blutac or glue the larger shards shiny-side out onto your wall, stylish.

These DVDs all suck, you should have left them on the ground in the parking lot.
