Is this fold ridiculously nitty?

Villain and I were the bigger stacks at the table and were both being a bit bullyish but staying out of each others way.

the laydown is ok, but you had to bet the flop, that was a pretty big mistake.

What were you aiming for with your check on the flop?

u should have never put urself in this position of having no idea where u stand...especially at such a low level, u need to take advantage of people's propensity to call when they should not...I will only check this in heads up and short handed games for deceptive metagame purposes and those are still few are far between

Not to mention the player leading out on the turn could have flopped a lower set or A8 and was looking for a check raise and there will be times you are folding here when he has one or no outs...

Obviously ..my flop play was horrendous.

If I bet pot on flop and he potted it again then and there would it be a lay down?

how bout if I potted the flop and he flat called and came out firing on turn?

I just found the whole hand confusing and definetly didn't make my life easier by checking the flop.

No! Why play aces at all if you do this? Worst case he's got a 12-card wrap and you're a very slight dog. Everything else you are crushing.

yea AJ2A with no nut flush cards isn't a very great hand. If you're even going to play this hand for a raise then pot flop if you hit top set 100%, on turn if the guy who bet out is pretty deep i would atleast call to try and fill up, also if he doesnt have the nut straight on the river he will most likely check and you get a free showdown.

This is possibly the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. You're playing microstakes, the other "big stack" in the hand has less than 2 BI and you're wondering if you should lay down top set with no straight or flush possible? If he repots, you go all-in, sometimes as a coin-flip and often as a massive massive favorite against a worse set or two pair. Maybe if you're both 5 or 10 BI deep, you could think about waiting for a safe turn, but most of the time, you should just be hammering this flop. I refuse to comment on the turn as played, because I'd never even consider playing the flop that badly.

Re: Is this fold ridiculously nitty?

Sorry ...yes you are absolutely correct Iggy that 1. I should have been betting out flop ..2. if he raise me on flop I should have been trying to get it all in on flop.

I was just asking if my play was bad as of turn play ...which I should not have got here the way I did ..but alas I did.

I am still learning Omaha so starting hand selection and hand win/loss percentages at different streets are very vague for me as I basically go off the knowledge I know through playing holdem.

So as Iggy said ...The turn is a screwed spot for me BECAUSE I let it become that way.

all that being said ...the turn laydown as played was not a terrible one then?

You need to stop that.
