Please, can you add the table funtionallity for all of us???
I want to start a new thread in poker software, making a list containing the name, the type of game (holdem, omaha, ...), price, status on different poker rooms, cost, and more information.
The ability to use html tables would be a terrific help, and I'm sure more people will find more uses to this same feature.
TIA & Regards ...

if you are making a thread that will really benefit the forums and merits the use of tables, you can probably get a mod to code it for you.

otherwise, get your own websites.

Giving all users HTML capabilities is a pretty significant security risk, I think. Plus, you would end up with many incredibly obnoxious posts by people who discover the blink tag for the first time.

Now you know what it's like to want.

I have posted about this before somewhere, maybe even here.

It requires a small change to the main stylesheet, specifying a font-family:monospace for the UBB code tags.

I certainly posted thanks when this change was implemented in the ill-fated UBB 7 upgrade, but that post was nuked along with many others when the upgrade was rolled back.

I guess we don't worry about fixing layout issues on here until the new forum software is rolled out?

Mike Haven has the tags for sale, but he won't accept payment.

Yeah, giving regular users full access to HTML would be madness. I'm even a little skeptical of giving it to mods. Some day a rogue mod is going to insert a nasty little SQL injection and screw up the whole site. Or even worse, start abusing the <blink> tag.

An alternative solution is to install a mod allowing users to create tables via BBCode. Not sure if such a mod exists for UBB.threads, but I know it exists for various other forum platforms. I guess it's pretty moot now though, since a switch to new forum software is supposed to be pretty imminent.

Yeah, there's no way that any new mods will be introduced to the hack job currently running this forum when a switch is looming (I wouldn't say immanent, though. There's still a fair bit of testing to do). When we switch to vBulletin, it'll probably be easier to implement this anyway.

Seriously, it a tiny alteration to http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/st...ts/infopop.css

<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
pre {
font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
...
</pre><hr />

Needs fixing to specify a PRE font - of which these are not.

Could it even be implemented in a theme if not in the main stylesheet?

EDIT: Whoops, changing my prefs to check looks like infopop.css is the theme. So, any themes already have a pre-formatted font by default for PRE tags?
