This is part of an ATF thread.

I use IE [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img] so I don't know anything about the option that Firefox has to block avatars, which is presumably what he means. I assume it can also block adverts.

Is this type of "accidental" conversation in a thread a delete-on-sight?

I've pm-ed vin17 to tell him I'm pretty sure Twoplustwo doesn't want av/ad blocking discussed, for very obvious reasons.

I've always stopped all discussion of adblock in CTH, even for useful things like blocking avatars. Admins, let me know if this policy has changed.

I have to agree, as a former advertiser this pissed me off and I was happy to see the threads deleted. I'm sure others feel the same. With that said it is great to not have to see those awful Rakebrain banners anymore.

How do you block an avatar if it's hosted on a site that has so many other images hosted that blocking it would be suicide? I'm thinking of an avatar hosted on photobucket or imageshack, for which blocking it would mean you couldn't see any pics from that site.

For example there's this fairly gross, slightly NSFW avatar that makes reading 2+2 at work a bit tougher:

I can't block it because it's photobucket.

I'm ok with any moderator removing any avatar. Just remove the avatar and pm the user saying it was authorized by me.
