HPFAP was the first poker book I ever purchased.

Strong book. Worth the purchase

Solid book. It was written before the NL Boom. Some of the concepts could probably be used for NL, but I haven't read it in over a year. I don't think that the Heads Up part is that good.

But yes, if you are playing Limit, it is a mandatory read, and it most certainly would not hurt to read it if you are focusing on NL.

I've read SSHE, and have just started reading HFAP. HFAP elaborates the concepts and principles taught in SSHE, and goes into the finer details. But some of the things taught in HFAP can be contradictory, thus your basic knowledge about ABC of poker has to be very solid.
