Thoughts on the Democratic Debate

I came away feeling that John Edwards is almost like the archetype for Manchurian Candidate, freaky demagogue. Hillary Clinton continues to impress me with her political savvy, especially how she managed to deflect the union audience's concern with some of her more pragmatic policies - "I'm your girl". I feel like Obama is rapidly losing his rock star status; losing the mantle of the left's Fred Thompson as special interests don't like his more "pie-in-the-sky" (not meant to be insulting) proposals.

Thoughts from the forum, Democrats/liberals especially?

I hate Hillary more ever time i see her. I find she has evil smirks, talks down to the audience, and has transparent preconceived tools and strategies for manipulating certain things.

What hurts her the most is she really does reek of the same old Washington non-sense. She seems as though she doesnt hold any core beliefs herself and rather manipulates the publics beliefs for her political uprise.

She faced lots of tough shots from the other candidates and with todays environment i don't think she can get away with the bush tactic of dismissing everything and changing the subject.

Barrack is losing his rockstar status. He didnt have confidence in his words and seems like he just got into politics to play mr president.

Dodd looked stupid as usual and there is nothing special about him so we can just set him aside.

Kucinich did the best relative to his standing and came off as a real maverick who stood for the people.

Edwards shots at Hillary were pretty strong and i think he did okay for his position.

Joe Biden was forgettable.

Richardson looked okay at parts and not so great at others. He just didn't make enough of an impact.

btw, where was Mike Gravel?

Edwards kicked some serious ass on that question from the guy "why can't I pay for my wifes health care". When the moderator tried to cut him off he held up his hand, said "just a minute I have to finish this" and the crowd went wild. He's slick.

I don't plan on watching any debates or even so much as learning where the candidates stand on any issues. I'm just going to vote for Hillary b/c I can't wait to see the next First Lady in his evening gown at the innaugural ball.

A question about the mine accident....Blame Bush

A question about NAFTA....Blame Bush (Hillary was all into NAFTA when her Hubby signed it wasn't she?.... why the change of heart? I consider it one of the few things I liked about Bill. She PANDERED as all of them did to the unions)

Question about the steel company the declared bankruptcy...blame Bush (even though it closed while Clinton was president)

You would think the questions came out of the Great Depression era.... what a bunch of whiners in the audience.... but the dems did not miss a beat in pandering and "feeling their pain"

At least Kucinich went out and said what he actually beleives... even though he a wacko IMO.... he doesnt try to spin his positions.

I loved how Obama couldnt give a yes or no answer on if he would invite Barry Bonds to the Whitehouse to congratulate him..... but he would definitly meet with ahmedinajihad or jong-il or Chavez. Good to know he draws the line at suspected steroid usage.

You didnt mention Bush being blamed for the bridge collapse...did you miss one or did they just neglect to ask a question about it?

"You didnt mention Bush being blamed for the bride collapse"

This was a funny typo. I lol'd. But seriously, who the [censored] cares if Bonds gets invited to the Whitehouse? Do people really vote based on that kinda stuff?

Best verbal slip was Chriss Dodd "we need to be incesting..." (instead of insisting).

That's the whole point.... no one would care if he said yes or no......

He seemed eager to meet with the likes of Chavez jong-il and ahmedianJihad... but hemmed and hawed at the thought of meeting with Bonds... just struck me as odd. Like he thought it was a trap type of question.

lol, yeah, my point was the only person stupider than Obama for dodging the question was the guy who asked it.
