Rename QZ?
 

The Quiet Zone:
For more in-depth, relaxed discussion and debate

to

Low Traffic:
For more in-depth, relaxed discussion and debate

I believe this would still fit the general idea of the forum, and it sounds better than 'The Quiet Zone' to me. What do you think?

The 2+2 community will think "Low Traffic" will suck even more than "Quiet Zone". It is very easy to see how "Low Traffic" asks to be poked fun at.

"The Lounge" went over well in the OOT discussion thread. Why wasn't it used?

I completely agree, and the humor of the name itself is part of what makes it appealing in my mind. People would poke fun at it, but they are already doing that with 'the quiet zone', anyway. The thing is, 'Low Traffic' actually is what that forum is supposed to be about. From how I understand it, people who wanted this forum wanted a place in which threads don't fall off the main page after 2 minutes. 'Low Traffic' also sounds less stuffy than QZ.

EDIT -

I should note that I think calling the forum 'low traffic' would actually increase interest and generate more traffic.

I think I prefer The Lounge.

I definitely don't like Low Traffic. I think that's even worse than Quiet Zone.

Eh, well that pretty much settles it then. Bob knows all. [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] I think you guys are seriously underestimating the humor value, though. None of the other choices would generate as much interest based on the name alone.

Still, I would much prefer 'The Lounge' over QZ. I must have missed why this name wasn't used instead. Can someone summarize why people thought that would be a bad name?

No to Low Traffic, I'd call.

I didn't mind QZ or The Lounge, and becuse of some preference for QZ in the splitting thread, went with QZ.

I still don't mind it, people just used to The Lounge early I think.

Thanks, but I still would. Mat created these forums as they are now. I wouldn't want to publicly go against one of his calls without first knowing that he would be okay with it. But since it's clear that I don't share the same sense of humor as most, which is something I should have learned by now, my idea is basically out, anyway. I'd like to see the lounge.

rename it for the sake of never seeing them referred to as Zoners again
