about to colon cleanse - what\'s gonna happen to me?

This weekend I'm going to start an 8-day colon cleanse, which includes 5 days of a liquid diet, as seen here. I've read the threads such as this one that debate whether the stuff works or if a person should do it or not - that's not the point of this thread.

I'm wondering how a liquid diet is going to affect me physically. I'm 6'1'' 195 and usually work out 3-4 days/week doing low-rep high-weights and then swim for 30 minutes after. I'm used to 150-200g of protein per day. The liquid diet you use for the cleanse consists of water, apple juice, and optional vegetable broth & carrot juice. You take a "toxin absorber" 5x/day that is supposed to help you feel full, and a "digestive stimulator" to flush you out.

Thoughts? Anyone have experience with this stuff? How much muscle am I going to lose? How long will it take to get it back?

I don't understand why you would try this if you aren't even buying into their bs.

If you want to do something to clean out your colon you might as well do a high colonic. It will clean out all the crap stuck in the nooks and crannies, plus it wont interrupt your diet. I know a guy who lost 10 pounds doing this, and have heard of up to 20 pounds lost, depending on how bad your diet used to be.

I've also tried these colon cleansings and known a few others who have tried them and they didn't have a noticeable effect.

I'm not one for doing this but this is the right idea. I don't agree with intaking what is required in the diet the OP listed.

If fast weight loss is your goal and a liquid diet is okay to you then do the velocity diet otherwise just get the clense.

Why not just take a ton of ex-lax and drink a ton of gatorade? A few hours of misery and then back to normal.
