Questions about betting patterns for NLH

Hey all,

I am looking to start being able to deduce what certain standard betting patterns mean. I would like to be able to start telling whether a particular betting line is strong, weak, or mediocre.

I feel like if I have a better knowledge of what certain betting patterns or lines represent (than I currently do), then I will have a better time putting players on hands, and for myself, disguising my holdings (or merely being able to get the most value out of a hand).

example: if the "standard" flopped set line is bet, bet, bet (I realise it probably isn't), if I throw in a check on the turn, what could I be representing.

I'm also aware that board texture plays a big part so for now, assume a relatively dry board, against relatively standard players.

All replies and help most welcome!

Ps I attempted to search for info on this, but was unsucessful. If anyone has some good links please share.

Thanks guys!

If there was an answer for what we'd put you on or what you're representing, you'd be doing it wrong because we'd be reading you! Just mix up your play as much as you can and try not to follow any pattern at all and you're doing the best thing.

Dry boards I either hit big and check raise or miss completely and check raise, both times it usually works unless someone hits a set or 2 pair in the SB or BB...

It sounds like you want info on hand reading. Here are 2 very good threads on that topic, there are others.

try looking in the PL/NL small stakes forum master sticky if the search engine is giving you grief. gl
