NYC Dentist Recommendation?
 

I feel like I'm not the only one in this position...

Live in the city now, had to give up my dentist out on Long Island (he retired anyway).

Need a new dentsit in Manhattan (I would take downtown White Plains also). Aside from just searching my insurance company's site and getting a list of names, I have no way of picking a dentist and knowing if he/she is good or not or comes well recommended. I just need general dentistry -- annual cleaning and check-up type stuff -- and might need a little bit of cosmetic work.

Can anybody recommend someone?

(This may well get me a *, but I'm desperate...I've been trying for months to no avail to find one).

Just checked...not on my insurance plan unfortunately...

How much will it cost to go to an out of network provider? He is not on my plan either, but it doesn't cost that much more and it is worth it.
