I made a list for krantz a few months back. Try a random walk down wall street, then the warren buffett way, then maybe One up on wall street. Im just choosing popular ones that are written for the masses. But definitely start with the first.

Boosted is a very good thinker of the game, and extremely tough / good 6max and HU player. Having talked tons of poker with him, I would definitely recommend him as a coach. I learned a ton from him.

[/ QUOTE ]it wouldn't even hurt to get something like investing for dummies. Either way, basic investing advice is:
invest for long term passive (buy and hold index fund strategy)
max out iras if possible (sep ira if you file taxes as a professional)
invest mostly in stocks while young.
invest with lowest expense ratios
invest with vanguard.
what vanguard funds? Either:

total stock market + total international stock market
or
target retirement 20xx

investing passively isn't too difficult actually.

Hmm most of these books aren't useful for Europeans (Germans) right? I mean tax regulations and markets might be quite different so some of the stuff could be irrelevant or even plain wrong..
Anyone from Europe/Germany can elaborate?

How could Recallme win 100k? Thats so sick.. You played a gazillion hands with 1bb/100 ? Variance is huge hmm

Jeff, why not just get a ordinary 30" Dell ? They are way cheaper and very good.
I've got 2x 24" and 1x 30" and it all works fine

I use one can play 20 tabling with resizing, I bought mine awhile ago but it was like 2500 or something. I wouldn't use anything else to play anymore, kills dual monitors imo

Maulik 11-04-2007 06:32 PM

Re: HSNL [censored] THREAD NOVEMBER

Without resizing you can 9 table with very little overlap.

It looks good, but the panels are similar to Dell, Samsung, etc, so buying the Apple will not provide higher quality.

Re: HSNL [censored] THREAD NOVEMBER

Fish,

Not sure if you're trolling. A common goal for investors is to earn a high rate of return, secondary considerations are tax codes.

Be careful if you get the Apple 30" as opposed to the Dell because it is not compatible with all Dual-Link Video cards and only certain ones will work.

Re: HSNL [censored] THREAD NOVEMBER

Well I basically just use my 30" as main monitor and the 24" as 2nd to my right... my other 24" is in a corner, waiting to move flats, then might use it.
I would always recommend 2x 30" instead of 1x 30" and 2x 24" but I had the 2x 24" before I bought my 30" and I was too lazy to sell them yet.

Maulik, no trolling I just thought some investor advises and ideas might not work the same way in Germany. Maybe the flats are more expensive, the taxes are higher, different deals to buy it, especially with poker beeing a shady grey area (tax free atm) so by buying a 500k flat you might look like a druglord trying to wash his money clean. Imho I don't know if there are any big differences in the markets but someone else might know, don't wanna read Trumps advises if they are pure crap for the German markets, know what I mean?

Cheers
