good pair vs flop c/r

villain is TAG reg, 21/18/5

UTG: $608.80
MP: $75.45
Hero (CO): $219.45
BTN: $197
SB: $53.85
BB: $242.05

Pre-Flop: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] dealt to Hero (CO)
2 folds, Hero raises to $8, 2 folds, BB calls $6

Flop: ($17) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 Players)
BB checks, Hero bets $14, BB raises to $44, Hero ???

flop is standard cbet, yeah? I think his range is fairly tight from the bb. but him on clubs, sets, air, 87s, 65s... thought him c/r'ing a king would be unlikely.

I think I'm ahead enough of the time here but its such a crap spot and he's pretty aggro so I expect him to fire a bunch of turns.

good question because I am in this situation a lot AND I usually just fold thinking its a RIO-situation. 21/18/5 will probably follow through with his whole range on turn so if you call now, you cant fold blank turn, right? And then if you call that and river is blank, are you gonna call that too??

--> too much to think about --> fold now :P

Btw, I b/f 99 but I might check like JJ behind against aggros that like to c/r

Eh, who knows. Very read-dependent. It's a very good move for Villain to do this with air x% of the time, and you want to push to charge crappy draws and underpairs, but then often it actually is a set representing a draw so you want to fold, but maybe he'll fire again so call and see what happens.

I think when you add it all up it's usually a fold though.

Re: good pair vs flop c/r

is he 3betting 88?

a push is meh, heres a reasonable calling range (assuming he 3bets 88)
Board: Kc 7c 8s
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 36.230% 36.12% 00.11% 21453 67.50 { 99 }
Hand 1: 63.770% 63.66% 00.11% 37812 67.50 { 77, JcTc, Tc9c, Tc8c, 9c8c, 87s, 6c5c, 5c4c }

so it depends on what he's doing this with... I'd prob just fold

okay, so people like a fold here.

at the time, It really just "felt" like he was full of [censored].

so I planned on calling the flop and jamming any non [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] turn. thoughts on that? or would it be better to just shove the flop if I don't believe him?

anyways, here's the turn. what now?

Re: good pair vs flop c/r

I dislike folding to the flop c/r, as he's too good a player to take that line w/ a TP type hand, so it's going to be a draw or air a ton of the time.

Shoving folds his air and gets called by better and draws. Calling means we get pushed off on a lot of turns. With his high aggression I don't mind getting it in on this, or many other turn cards.
