Dogtrack betting?

Hey guys I'm going to the local track with my buddies who are gonna play poker but I'm gonna bet on some dog races...

What I did last time was bet on two dogs to place 1st or 2nd and that seemed to work out the best and actually have low variance. I'm not looking to chase those big Quiniella's and what not but what are some general tips that would help me out a lot?

P.S I also live in Florida so I don't bet against the house but, everyone else... whenever I see a dog who I think has really bad odds when I don't think he should I place a bet on them too but, I really am guessing as to who I think should do well.

That's the name of the game.

Watch Kennels. A lot of people race dogs (and horses) just for entertainment -- others do it for a living. The two types make completely different decisions about racing.

i like to just watch the dogs when they walk to the starting line and bet on the ones that look like they have that fire in their eyes. works like every time.

Try using the system in "Beat The Racetrack", by William T. Ziemba. It worked for me, and I see no reason why it shouldn't work as well on dogs as it does on horses- Alan McIntire
