Harrah\'s Total Rewards question

I did a search and didn't see this question answered in any of the Total Rewards threads.

I have multiple Harrah's Total Rewards cards (all with same number). If I go AC with my girlfriend, can we both use one of my Total Rewards cards simultaneously while playing slots or video poker? I'm just wondering if Harrah's has a system in place to prevent a single Total Rewards number from being used simultaneously in multiple locations.

In my case, I don't see anything wrong with it, because we are both playing with money out of my wallet.

Re: Harrah\'s Total Rewards question

you can play multiple machines with the same account, Harrah's will just assume you are playing them both yourself (especially if the machines are next to each other).

generally speaking, it won't be a problem if your girlfriend plays somewhere else on the same account for recreational stakes. however, Harrah's would reserve the right to confiscate points or outright ban accounts should they deem any kind of third-party action to be somehow abusive to the system (particularly comps and cashback-wise). the grey area is them not knowing whether said third party is indeed your "girlfriend just playing with my own money", or some other situation which is not necessarily beneficial to the casino.

the "play on same account or separate accounts" debate is as old as the invention of the slot card itself. what's changed in the last few years is the revision of some slot club T&C's aiming to steer every person towards getting their own account. especially if you can double up on a new signup offer (free slot play, loss rebate, buffets etc) then it might be worth it anyway.

but to answer your basic question, no, the same account card in two separate machines does not automatically trigger any red flags.

Harrah's? I KNOW what will happen, if your girlfriend hits a jackpot, while using your card.

ah yes, when you win, its "Wow, did "WE" win"

When she wins its "Oh my God, Look what "I" won.

its all good. I have asked the exact question at harrah's in vegas. Jackpots would not be an issue in anyway......

Re: Harrah\'s Total Rewards question

If your GF wins a jackpot, have her call you immediately. Get over there quickly and then when the suits notice her ID doesn't match the player's card you're there to explain how it's ok, you're playing together. Odds are good they wouldn't really care anyway.

You will have trouble accumulating double hours if you're both gonna play poker. Dunno how AC works but in Vegas the poker room computers aren't part of the standard points system and they clock you in and out and accumulate your time totally separately from the normal rewards system. And far as I know, there's absolutely no way to accumulate double time on one card.

No problem though. Harrah's will be happy to issue her a card in her name she can use for poker. You just have to make sure you concentrate the points on the correct card for any machine play.
