Great game out of the gate for Drury, Malik looked good. Good to see the offense clicking. High expectations this year I think.

I am real excited Prucha and Callahan both scored. Dubinsky looked like a deer in headlights and better not hold these 2 back all year.

Shanny was awful, although he really doesn't have to do much offensively. He is great as a role player and hopefully he wont eat up lots of PP time.

I personally think Drury is better off with Jagr and Marty and happy to see they got away from their preseason combo of Gomez/Jagr.

Saturday will be tough in Ottawa. Good luck to us.

Rachunek is only going to be terrible here for 1 year - you guys have got Gomez for a while.

The Rangers seriously worked the Isles in that game. Too bad DP is a wall and Henrik let in two softies.

The Rangers will hit their stride sometime, but they are not cup contenders. I still enjoy Ranger fans seriously overrating their team... every year.

Outplayed the Caps in every aspect of the game. And we finally got the power play going. Hopefully this will carry into tonight against those tough Senators.

Attended the game tonight. Some observations from real-time at the Garden:

- Malik is [censored] horrendous. He deserves every bit of negativity he gets from the fans.

- Dubinsky played well. Except he got his ass beat by Richardson at the end of the game, lol.

- The refs were TERRIBLE. A bewildering interference call on Shanny, a missed slash against Jagr, and Gerber THROWING THE PUCK DOWN ICE were just a few highlights from the zebras tonight.

- Lundqvist should have stopped one of the goals, but the other two, it didn't seem like he had a fair shot.

- Of the "50/50" pucks, I'd say that Ottawa ended up controlling about 75-80% of them.

- The power play was terrible in the first two periods, but was better in the third, when Gerber turned into Patrick Roy and a lid was placed on the goal.


There was some more stuff I thought of during the game, but I can't remember them now.

Yeah, but two of their 4 losses were to Ottawa, the best team in the league. One of their losses came when Dipietro stood on his head for 60 minutes. Tonight however was inexcusable.

Plus you had to expect it would take at least some time for all the new faces to mesh.

Yeah I wondered about this. It is obvious that they are still trying to build chemistry with all the new faces and changing the lines every other period is not conducive to that. I can see trying that late in the season if you need a spark, but there isn'thuge pressure to win NOW so it would be better for players you know are good to get used to each other.
