lapkr, vespa haters et al,

f u all, chicks dig the scooter!

I love Vespas. a TNG is NOT a vespa. Only the tragicly non-hip, messengers, delevery boys, and yes guys who are teh gahy ride TNGs. They are modern scooters... they probably drive better, have better engines, etc... but they aren't cool.

The only non Vespa scooter that is hot is a Stella, and thats only because its a better Vespa than Vespa makes.

PS: I couldn't get a scooter because of license issues in my state which are annoying to get past, but you can be sure I'm buying a Stella when I move.

Re: My \"what\"?

I replaced my flood ravaged 71 Mercury for a vintage Vespa that would easily fit in the cars trunk...I started riding scooters in Cambodia, so the roads here in NOLA are no problem, they're only a little bit worse here.

As long as we are short on police officers, scooters rule down here.

no theft problems in NOLA post flood? I would assume scooters would be an easy target.

Sunny, sorry to hear your story. But it did make me feel better about leaving my iPod (and nice Shure headphones) on the plane this week. Still crossing fingers to get mine back, but outlook is not good. Maybe we can both enjoy an upgrade (mine, at least, was 2 years old - and I had the 3cs and will now get the 4cs).

Re: My \"what\"?

Oh, that is a huge problem, of course, my neigbor lost his scooter that way, I just meant the lack of street lights and traffic in neigborhoods near me.

A pretty ridivulous NO crime story if anyone is intersted...My Ex calls me up because on the same day, her Air Conditioning broke and her water was turned off...I go to check it out and wait for the air conditioning guy (the disadvantage of being a poker player in this town is everyone suckers you into being the guy who waits to see if the utility people show).

The Problem: Somebody actually stole the copper pipes under her house while she was at work. The scammers and looters have already gotten them from every abandoned house and the money is so good, they can't stop. Total to fix and replace:$2000. It's crazy down here.
