government interference diminishes The Price is Right

If you've watched The Price is Right recently, you'll know that the audience is dominated by two demographics: old retirees and college stoners. Commercials during the show, however, are targeted only at the old folks (scooters, osteoperosis medication, hearing aids, etc).

Now, this audience has one thing in common: both are big potential markets for weed. Since this happens to be illegal, none of the black market suppliers are willing to purchase advertising time. The demand for TPIR advertising time is artifically supressed, which also keeps the price suppressed. If the market were free, TPIR revenues would be higher, and prizes would be as well.

Government intervention makes The Price is Right less exciting.

Those bastards! That's the argument that's turned me. Long live anarcho-capitalism.

This is way off. Even if weed could be advertised on TPIR, it wouldn't be because it's on at 11 and as everyone knows, stoners are rarely up before noon. If they do watch it, they've generally TIVO'ed it and skip the commercials.

On the other hand, government made the profits on weed ginormous.

..and the profits of war and any other government activity for that matter.

But old people with painful diseases who would benefit from medical marijuana are up.

I still don't agree about the ad profits. Weed is so easy to grow that if it were legalized, old people would grow their own like they do cherry tomatoes.

I saw a rerun of Rounders on WGN the other night. The commercials were like Preparatioh H and Viagra.
