South Park starts up again tonight 10/3

Just a heads up for anyone who forgot. Second half of season 11 starts tonight at 10pm. I personally thought that the first half of the season was mediocre compared to the extremely high standard the show has set for itself. The one exception IMO was the n-guy episode which I thought was excellent. There were other funny episodes but none that stood out as extraordinary. Hopefully the second half of the season will pick up the slack.

Dude, the episode where cartman puts butters dick in his mouth is like top 5 of all time and the 24 episode was awesome. This has been one of my favorite seasons yet. the n-guy episode is just amazing.

I think tonight's episode is a fastball right down the middle of the plate for Stone and Parker.

"In the premiere episode, Cartman discovers the joys of having Tourette's syndrome. Drunk with the power of saying whatever he wants without getting in trouble for it, Cartman lines up national TV coverage to take advantage of his new life with no filters."

"Cartman Sucks", the Butters penis in mouth episode, was well below average IMO. The notion that Cartman would do such a thing is pretty funny, but the episode lacked the usual awesomeness that is Cartman. I don't know how much SP you've seen, but I have a hard time seeing most hardcore fans putting this in the top 20, nevermind the top 5.

The 24 episode was ok. Maybe it loses points with me because the last 4 episodes have been parodies of TV shows or movies.

Re: South Park starts up again tonight 10/3

The "Cartman sucks" and "D-Yikes" episodes were too awesome to say anything bad about this season. I've seen every episode from every season multiple times and think this. I still joke around with my friends about "scissoring", especially with a lesbian friend of mine who tells me she doesn't really do that! We still joke about it anyway.

It's tough for me to make a top 10 for this show because of how much it has changed over the years. I can list my LEAST favorite episodes though:

The one where Towelie writes the book "A million little fibers" was really boring, and I HATED the scenes where the camera zoomed up on Oprah's crotch for several minutes. I kept having to look away in disgust.

The lice-capades episode (the only really bad episode from this season IMO). I have nothing good to say about that episode.

I agree, this episode was mediocre at best. The fact that it's a Cartman centered episode sets the bar higher and I think it fell well short.

I made a top 10 list like a year ago, I doubt it would change much, as I wouldn't put any season 11 episodes in the top 10.

On the DVD commentary they admit how weak "A Million Little Fibers" was. It's definitely one of my least favorite episodes of all time. "Lice Capades" though I thought was at least decent.

Nothing has topped "The Biggest Douche in the Universe" episode for me. Probably seen it close to 20 times and I still LOL the whole way through each time I see it.

I loved the scenes where Cartman was showing the pictures and discussing it from an artistic viewpoint like "I used some high contrast lighting here" *shows a picture of his ass on Butter's face*

Also the whole first like ten minutes were hilarious! To call this episode "below average" is an insult to me.

It was all pretty decent, it's just that I can name about a dozen Cartman-centered episodes that are funnier and wittier.

This episode was a huge disappointment considering its the return of towelie.

First half of the season was extremely poor for me compared to seasons 7 and 8 or so.

Thanks for the link. I'm surprised many feel that way about the episode.

Also, to me the "Cartman Sucks" episode is a classic. I'll put it this way - if someone hasn't seen much SouthPark it's definitely an episode I'm going to show them.

See, that's where I'll agree with you. I think it's a great episode for someone who isn't familiar with SP. In fact, I know a few people who only watch casually who loved it.

But I feel that if you watch regularly, you'd know about Cartman's usual diabolicalness, cleverness, and twisted way of getting what he wants. None of which was displayed in that episode. And it's precisely those characteristics that makes Cartman great.

I agree with your opinion about "Cartman's usual diabolicalness, cleverness, and twisted way of getting what he wants." After he made Scott Tenorman eat his parents it brought Cartman to a whole new level. I expect bigger, better, more extravagant and conniving schemes out of him.

That being said I still laughed a lot at this episode.

Re: South Park starts up again tonight 10/3

First half of S11 was not good by South Park standards. The only episode that has any long lasting appeal for me is the NOTLH episode. N-gger Guy was funny but wore thin quickly. Cartman Sucks had a couple of laughs. Everything else was weak as SP did waaaayyyy too many spoofs. Licecapades was almost as bad as the Million Little Fibers episode.

That being said, I am not tapering my expectations for the rest of this season and I think the rest of the episodes will get back to basics for SP.

You people who thought the first half of season 11 was below average are insane. This show has basically been flawless for the last 3-4 seasons.

The problem with South Park is I have such high expectations. I know people who don't watch South Park and loved "Cartman Sucks" or "Lice Capadades" all of my friends who watched South Park though it was mediocre relative to the standard it has set.
I feel once this season is done it will look a lot better if you re ordered the episodes. So you wouldn't have four spoofs back to back.
This episode looks like one Trey and Matt can't really screw up and it will probably be very good, but not great.
A Million Little Fibers was pretty weak, but Towelie is so awesome.
I will concur with Vagos that Biggest Douche in The Universe is probably my favorite episode.

I haven't watched that many episodes of South Park, prolly watched a lot of the ones after Season 8 or so I think. (started DVRing all south park episodes on CC beginning of this year). I think my favorite episode (so far) is the one where Cartman gets his revenge (is it "Cartman's Revenge").

Night of the Living Homeless = best episode so far from s11, imo.

His revenge on Scott Tennorman? With the chile cook-off? That episode is called "Scott Tennorman Must Die" I believe.

Scott Tenorman Mus Die is the most overrated episode of South Park (it is still awesome) just overrated. It is a good episode, which builds up to an awesome punch line.
Where stuff like Biggest Douche in The Universe, Kenny Dies are phenomenal from start to finish.

I feel similarly about the Tenorman episode. The ending of the episode shows the evilest side I've ever seen of Cartman, but the rest of the episode is pretty average.

New episode on in one hour! EST at least

Haha I like Casa Bonita a lot as well. I'd say I like them both equally but the ending in STMD is sooooooooo good lol. Also, the episode is funny and sorta keeps you in suspense throughout. But I do agree that there are better overall episodes but that's just my personal favorite. Cartman + Butters is a good episode imo.

Haven't seen 'the biggest douche in the world' so can't comment on that.

Another "meh" Season 11 episode. And it was only average because of the second half. There wasn't a single laugh to be had in the first 15 minutes.

When it went on the first commercial break, I thought it would rank up there as one of the worst in the series. The last 10 minutes were decent though, so it wasn't a total miss.
