AK on the button with A high flop

I dont know how to use a hand convertor for a live game HH so sorry if my format is wrong.Heregoes:

Single table 7 man super-satellite
4th hand in and first round of blinds (100/200)
Average stack 12,000
Hero on the button with AK off,5 limpers to Hero who makes 800.
2 callers,MP and CO.
Flop 10h Ah 5d
Check,check,Hero bets 800,MP calls,CO calls.
Turn Ks
MP checks,CO bets 800,Hero raises to 2000,MP calls,CO all-in

Hero?
What do you put CO on?

Wow, that looks pretty bad.

Make it a lot more preflop. Like 1400-1600.
Bet at least 3/4pot on the flop, shove turn.

CO clearly has QJ.
Seriously, raise way more preflop with the intension to get the pot headsup or take it down right there.
As played, I think I switch to calldownmode on the turn.
Usually donkbets later in a hand mean sth > toptop, especially in a multiway pot.

I agree w/ holy. Bet more PF. W/ AK/AA-QQ, and to a certain extent JJ, you need to plan your hands in order to get the money in on any good flop, and worst case any good turn. The bigger the pot preflop, the easier it is to get the money in on the flop when you flop tptk, or an overpair, and the harder it is to let someone outplay you or get there w/ a longshot type hand.

Do you think so? I think that if they beat TPTK, they checkraise much more often than they donk. Beluga theorem innit. If it went check-bet-call, check-check, ridicularse bet on the river, then yeah. Having said that, he probably has KT or AK for LOL chopaments.

Re: AK on the button with A high flop

I call, and MP shows down AK,CO off shows QJ for winning straight.
Agreed that my flop bet off 800 was a joke ( ) but some of your PF bet sizes seem very large to me for a B & M game. The standard raise here is 3 BB,you really think I should be raising 6-10 BB PF?

Thanks for your replies

5 limpers? im pushing this pf.
800 pf is bad- u give them the odds to call. same on flop (bet nearly the pot or push it). the 800 bet is a joke. betting 200 sometimes looks better than ur 800 bet ;D
